The graininess is all actually intended. I admist that I've got an issue with sizing in my submissions, and I'm working on it. Only a select few of my deviations should be viewed at Full.

To explain the effects, I'll just say this:
Being a Marine, and a combat photographer, I have had the opportunity to see old combat photography that has never really had any public exposure. When I shoot military related stuff, especially things like this or in the field, I try for the feeling that I get when I look at vintage compat photography (esp. circa WWII, and Korea). Those images always had a graininess and a faded, almost dreary look (probably due more to the weather/lighting conditions and use of film).

*Edit: I fixed the resolution and the file size, so it's generally a smaller view when Full. This should prevent viewers from being distracted by the grain. It can be agreed that if the image is humongous, graininess is ugly. I hope this is an acceptable edit for everyone. It works for me.
