On Call

Description

I always have music on when I'm working. When I took this particular shot, my iPhone was pumping Kings of Leon into my audio sensory devices (see:ears). The particular song was titles "On Call". And later on, in the my digital darkroom, the same song came on as I worked on the tonal adjustments for it. It seemed meant to be so I named it thusly, and I've included the lyrics to the song below.

She said call me now baby,
And I'd come a running,
She said call me now baby,
And I'd come a running,
If you'd call me now baby,
I'd come a running

I'm on call,
So be there,
One and all
To be there,
When I fall,
To pieces,
Don't you know,
I'll be there waiting

I'm gonna brawl
So be there,
One for all,
Be there,
When they fall,
To pieces,
Don't you know,
I'll be there laughing

I'll come a running,
I come a running,
I've come a running,

Be there!

I'm on call
So be there

I'm on call to be there!

As you placed this into the NoMercy folder that means you want a brutally honest Critique from #thephotographyunion

This is a fantastic shot! It has a wonderful perspective, which is helped by the train, tracks and telephone wires. The choice to do it in black and white was a wonderful idea. It helps convey a feeling of loneliness to the viewer.

Though it is a wonderful shot, there are a few parts that could have been improved. For instance, on the right side of the frame, there is a bright white... thing (I can't tell if its a building or a train car). But, it doesn't matter what it is; either way it distracts from the focal point of the picture, and slightly unbalances it.

Hope this feedback helps.
